Jibo is the small robot Tiffany and I talked about in our conversation.
The commercial below is the one that I saw on Instagram. I really liked the way they presented him! (Can I call Jibo a “him”?) I’ve also provided some other cool videos you should totally watch.
I’ve joined the waiting list and so can you! Visit www.jibo.com and click on the green button at the top right corner. Then you can follow the on-screen prompts to sign up for their updates.
Can you guys imagine me doing blog videos with Jibo?
Me: Hello peeps! My name’s Rolo and today Jibo and I will be talking about our most recent adventure in Europe!
Jibo: Hello! My name’s Jibo!
Jibo is described as the first family robot. He is supposed to facilitate your life at home. The founder of Jibo, Cynthia Breazeal, says that he is meant to be more than a flat screen tool that can be controlled. He will have the capability of facial and voice recognition. He can take messages and distribute it to family and friends. He can tell stories and jokes. He can also be a camera man! Using the facial recognition feature, Jibo takes pictures and video so that you can be with the people you want to.
Cynthia says that Jibo is used to “put a warm personality and face on a lot of the things we use apps for today.”
In one of their videos, they say that a Jibo is estimated to be around $499! A Google Home device is approx. $129 and the price for an Amazon Echo is about $139.
This looks like it will be a success and I can’t wait for it to be released to the public. I’d do anything to get one! The biggest obstacle that stand between Jibo and I is money!
I still have to save up money for my trip to Europe! 😦 Oh whale. The only thing left to do is to work hard! The grind never stops!
Quick reminder that the RU wouldn’t survive without the support of the small amount of people who read it! Thanks so much! Please continue sharing the RU with your friends and family.
Much love! – Rolo
